Laguna Oaks Golf Course

Laguna Oaks offers a unique spin on Par 3 golf courses. It is located in Cape May Court House, a 15 minute drive from the Armada, and is known for inventing the “Golden Golf” scoring system. This was done to make golf seem less intimidating and more accessible to less experienced golfers. The scoring system in essence changes the what par is for each hole depending on the handicap of the individual. For example, a scratch golfer will be attempting for par in 3 strokes where as a golfer with a higher handicap would have a par be 4 or 5 strokes. Get it? At a reasonable price of $29 – $39 (depending on using an electric or pull cart) per person, Laguna Oaks offers a great par 3 course 7 days a week!

Avalon Golf Club

Also located in Cape May Court House, Avalon Golf Club offers a fun and challenging golfing experience to all skill level golfers. Avalon’s golf course measures between 4,924 to 6,235 yards with narrow fairways and the pesky Jersey shore wind. This can make for an interesting golf outing. Avalon makes it easy to set up tee times with a 24/7 online sign up available. Prices ramge from $59 – $94 depends on the day and time of day your tee time is scheduled. Lastly, have a great Happy Hour daily from 3pm – 5pm and 3pm – close on Fridays to grab a drink after a long round of golf.

Cape May Par 3 & Driving Range

Another fun and family-friendly Par 3 course just 15 minutes away from the Armada in Rio Grande, NJ. Similar to Laguna Oaks, the rates are very reasonable at $17.50 per person for 18 holes. The driving range has baskets available at ranging from $6 – $10 by size if you are looking to work on your swing and approach. Junior camps and lessons are also available for the kids to work on fundamentals. Cape May Par 3 is also known for having “Footgolf”  a combination of golf and soccer that is fun for all ages. Footgolf  is very affordable at $10 per person and a great way to spend a day away from the beach on your vacation. As a result, Cape May Par 3 & Driving Range is a family friendly atmosphere where the fun never stops.

Cape May National Golf Club

It is considered by some as one of the most natural golf courses ever built. Cape May National is not only one of the best public golf courses near Wildwood Crest, but in all of New Jersey. Consequently, rates are little more pricey at $95, but in this case, it’s definitely worth a little extra dough. They also have Parent/ Child specials “For one parent and one child under 17. Enjoy 9 holes of golf for $40 with cart after 4pm.”. If you’re interested in playing golf at a top tier golf course, Cape May National may be your best bet.

Any of these four golf courses are a good choice to spend a morning or afternoon playing golf. The best part is that all of them are only a 15 minute or so drive from the Armada By-The Sea Motel so remember that when you are booking your stay with us this summer!
